The picturesque town on the south coast of England has been dubbed "Brighton's little sister" by observers - and now it has received another brilliant title. It was recognized as one of the most romantic vacation destinations in a survey.

Eastbourne in East Sussex was ranked third in the list of the most Instagrammable places in the UK in the latest study that ranks the country's regions based on their scenic beauty. The analysis was conducted by travel experts from Deals Points, and Sussex was the most popular place, receiving nine out of 85 mentions, the Express website writes.

Eastbourne is not the worst choice, given that it has many advantages. A little over an hour's drive from London and a beautiful coastline that becomes lively in the summer makes it the perfect place to spend a day at sea.

And for those couples who have families of their own, the good news is that there is plenty to do for all ages. The Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway and Treasure Island offer plenty of fun activities such as rides, adventure golf and indoor soft play areas.

In addition, there are many other attractions in the vicinity of Eastbourne that are worth exploring. Nearby is the Seven Sisters Country Park with seven majestic chalk cliffs jutting out into the sea.

Every year in June, a week before Wimbledon, Eastbourne hosts an international tennis tournament that brings together top tennis players from around the world.

And in October, one of the most famous Sussex marathons is held annually - the Beachy Head Marathon, a half marathon and 10 km, which starts west of Eastbourne and heads inland, then returns back along the Seven Sisters.

Travelers who visited the city were fascinated by its beauty and shared their wonderful experiences on TripAdvisor.

One user said: "Eastbourne is probably the little sister of Brighton, which is just 30 minutes to the west. This city has a great promenade where you can take a walk at any time.

"A large number of shops are mainly in the center, close to the train station. Most hotels and restaurants are closer to the waterfront. However, you will have to go to Brighton if you are looking for a vibrant nightlife as well as a selection of different international gastronomic dishes.

"It's worth a walk west towards Beachy Head, a distance of 4 to 5 miles. This natural scenic spot is about a 1 1/4 hour walk away. There are great views of the English Channel from here. I would recommend Eastbourne either for a long weekend or a midweek break."

Another user said: "Great base for exploring Beachy Head (10 minutes), Burling Gap (20 minutes) and more. Take the bus from the High Street to see these and other attractions on your way to Brighton.

An "All Day Ticket" is available at the information center for £3.20 per person or £5 per bus. The bus runs every hour, so we first went to Beachy Head for an hour, then got back on the bus and went on to Birling Gap, and then back to Eastbourne. It's a very good deal."
