A British Airways flight from Milan to London was delayed for an hour due to incorrect seat cushions. The incident occurred on February 5 at Milan Linate Airport.

During an unannounced inspection, Italian aviation officials discovered that the Airbus A320neo had the wrong type of seat cushions installed in a row near the emergency exit, according to View From the Wing.

The cushions attached to the seats in the rows behind the wing were too soft and wide. These seats typically have more legroom to allow for sufficient space in case of evacuation.

Passengers on the flight shared their experiences on TikTok. The video shows flight attendants searching for the correct pillows, with passengers also assisting by checking under their seats.

"Basically, British Airways had standard pillows in the emergency rows when they should have had shorter pillows for emergency situations," explained the TikTok user.

Fortunately, vigilant passengers identified the correct pillows, and the flight departed with only an hour's delay.

This story sparked a strong reaction on social media. Some users expressed outrage at British Airways' negligence and the inspection by experts after the passengers had boarded, while others commended the passengers for assisting the crew.
