Brussels Airlines Celebrates New Tomorrowland-Inspired Livery on Airbus A320neo
Brussels Airlines has introduced a striking new livery, dubbed "Amare," on its second Airbus A320neo, OO-SBB, showcased during a special event in Brussels. This livery revives the beloved design that previously graced an Airbus A320ceo until January, continuing the airline's tradition of the Belgian Icons series.
The new Amare livery celebrates over a decade of partnership between Brussels Airlines and the iconic music festival Tomorrowland, a relationship set to extend until 2028. The design features the mystical bird Amare, crafted to represent the festival's vibrant energy and the airline's commitment to cultural connection and environmental consciousness.
This aircraft, which arrived in Brussels in an all-white livery last December, has undergone a detailed transformation. The design process took 15 months, culminating in an intricate depiction of Amare fading into the spectrum of space, symbolizing motion and modernity. Remarkably, the livery also includes interactive elements, coming to life when scanned through social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
Beyond the Amare, Brussels Airlines has featured six Belgian icons throughout its history, although only three currently remain in service. The airline has not disclosed specific plans but remains committed to this unique tradition of celebrating Belgian culture through aviation.
As part of its ongoing fleet renewal strategy, Brussels Airlines has begun to incorporate newer, more efficient models. The airline recently added three Airbus A320neo aircraft, with a fourth expected within the year, marking the first time Brussels Airlines has acquired factory-new aircraft. While the focus is currently on refreshing its short- and medium-haul fleet, discussions about renewing the widebody fleet are ongoing, reflecting the airline's broader modernization efforts.
