Brussels Airlines is preparing for a busy summer season, expecting to serve over 1.2 million passengers in July and August. To ensure smooth operations and high-quality customer experience, the Belgian national airline has introduced several new initiatives.

Summer is traditionally the busiest period in aviation, and this year is no exception. Popular European destinations include Greek islands such as Zakynthos, Corfu, and Rhodos, as well as Spanish hotspots like Gran Canaria, Mallorca, and Lanzarote. Cooler climate cities like Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden are also attracting many travelers.

Beyond Europe, direct flights to New York JFK and Washington DC are highly sought after by Belgian tourists. Collaboration with tour operators has led to fully booked flights to Hurghada, Egypt, and Antalya, Turkey.

To meet the increased demand, Brussels Airlines has added new destinations to its network, including Nairobi, Kenya, and Krakow, Poland, with the addition of an Airbus A330 and an Airbus A320. The airline is also set to transport over 20,000 attendees to the Tomorrowland festival, introducing Tomorrowland Green Fares to reduce carbon emissions with Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

Operational enhancements include the recruitment of 180 cabin crew members, 64 pilots, 40 passenger service agents, and 70 summer students. An improved chatbot and a "pre-seating robot" have been implemented to assist passengers more effectively.

Brussels Airlines is expanding its Business Class service to all flights, addressing the demand for premium travel. The airline has also enhanced meal offerings on short and medium-haul flights and planned several events in THE LOFT, its award-winning lounge.

Significant investments have been made in staff facilities, including a new crew center at the airport and a state-of-the-art training facility in Vilvoorde, aimed at improving working conditions and training for employees.

Chief Operating Officer Tilman Reinshagen expressed confidence in the airline's preparedness for the summer season, emphasizing the dedication of the staff in delivering reliable operations and a premium travel experience.
