China's largest airline, China Southern Airlines, is going to launch its first direct flight to Mexico.
The flights are scheduled to start on April 17 and are to be performed twice a week from Shenzhen in southern China. Tickets are not yet on sale, Bloomberg reports.
The more than 16-hour journey across the Pacific Ocean will be the longest in the history of China's air service, with a length of 14147 km, making it one of the longest scheduled routes on the planet.
Currently, the longest flight is the New York-Singapore route, with a length of 15349 km.
As reported by TravelWise, Chinese travel to the Middle East has increased to pre-pandemic levels.
