Glider bus, engineered to shorten travel duration on crucial routes, is presently being tested in the area. This extended bus, inspired by tram design, is a component of a larger strategy to develop a "quicker, more cost-effective, eco-friendly, and dependable" transportation system for the region, with an emphasis on enhancing travel times between the city center, the airport, and major sports arenas.

This transport offers additional extra room for mobility aids and luggage, along with a contactless payment system and three pairs of double doors to facilitate quicker boarding and disembarking. The bus is undergoing trials on important routes to assess necessary road modifications, with plans to integrate it into the city's transport network within several years.

The bus provides a more effective way to get around the city, especially during peak hours or major events like sports games. The increased capacity and faster boarding times reduce waiting time and ensure more reliable connections to key locations. This could make it easier to visit some of the city's top attractions, such as historic docks and vibrant cultural districts, without the hassle of long delays or overcrowded buses.

However, it's crucial to note that while the Glider bus will improve access to major sites like the airport and sports venues, some areas may still pose challenges for visitors. Locations further from the city center, such as large parks or popular residential neighborhoods, may not see immediate benefits from this new transportation option.

As the city continues to evaluate the Glider bus routes, there could be future opportunities to extend its reach to other popular locations, ensuring more comprehensive coverage of the area's attractions. Expanding the routes could enhance access to less central areas, improving the overall connectivity of the region's cultural and historical landmarks. Such developments could contribute to a more integrated and efficient transportation network across the city.
