Costa Coffee Now Available on easyJet Flights
Travelers flying with easyJet will now have access to Costa Coffee onboard, as the popular coffee chain expands its offerings across the airline's entire network. Starting today, passengers on all 1,184 routes, covering 170 destinations in 35 countries, can enjoy a new selection of inflight drinks from Costa, making air travel a little more comfortable for coffee lovers.
This move follows a successful rollout on UK flights in the previous month and is designed to elevate the inflight experience. As travelers seek more familiar comforts during their journeys, the introduction of Costa Coffee aims to cater to this demand by offering a range of beverages, from lattes to cappuccinos, developed specifically for inflight consumption.
Several airlines have made similar partnerships to enhance the inflight experience for travelers by introducing branded coffee options. For example, Alaska Airlines teamed up with Stumptown Coffee to craft a tailored coffee mixture particularly tailored for high-altitude consumption. This blend was developed after extensive testing, focusing on balancing flavors to suit the altered taste sensations passengers experience during flight. The airline introduced the blend on all flights from December 2023 and also serves it in select lounges.
Additionally, United Airlines broadened its collaboration with illycaffè by introducing a ready-to-drink cold brew option for journeys exceeding 300 miles. This beverage is accessible in premium compartments and available for purchase in standard class, offering passengers a premium coffee experience at cruising altitudes. United has been offering illy’s hot coffee since 2016, and this partnership continues to improve their inflight service with a focus on quality.
For travelers, this development represents an effort by airlines to improve overall comfort and satisfaction during flights, particularly for those on long journeys or early morning departures. Having a well-known brand like Costa onboard also adds a level of familiarity and consistency, providing passengers with a reliable and enjoyable coffee experience regardless of where they are flying. This partnership could potentially set a trend for more recognizable food and beverage brands entering the inflight market, allowing travelers to enjoy more high-quality options at 30,000 feet.
Additionally, the availability of familiar drinks might prove particularly valuable for frequent flyers, who often seek small comforts during their trips. For easyJet, the inclusion of Costa Coffee on all routes further strengthens its customer-centric approach, ensuring passengers have more choices and improved services during their journey.
