Europe’s premier river cruise company, CroisiEurope, has unveiled an enticing addition to its repertoire: a captivating hotel barge cruise navigating Belgium’s lesser-known waterways. Promising a journey through picturesque towns steeped in cultural heritage and an array of architectural and culinary delights, this venture marks CroisiEurope’s inaugural foray into hotel barge cruising beyond the borders of France.

Embarking on its maiden voyage in April 2025, the six-night expedition traverses from Ghent to Halle, encompassing charming stopovers at Bruges, Oudenaarde, Péronnes-Lez-Antoing, Mons, Strépy-Thieu, and Brussels. Among the itinerary’s standout attractions are the awe-inspiring Strépy-Thieu boat lift, ranking as the world’s second-largest lift with a remarkable 73.15-meter incline, and the Ronquières Inclined Plane, facilitating the passage of barges and inland vessels along a 1432-meter ramp boasting a 68-meter ascent.

Delving deeper into the itinerary, guests can anticipate an array of enriching experiences, including guided explorations of Bruges, Oudenaarde, and Brussels. A highlight for aficionados of Belgian libations is a visit to a Bruges brewery for a tantalizing tasting session. Additionally, a distillery excursion in Oudenaarde unveils the secrets behind traditional jenever, gin, and whiskey distillation, followed by an indulgent tasting session.

Moreover, guests can partake in a culinary odyssey through Mons, accompanied by delectable tastings of local specialties. The itinerary also features a visit to the illustrious Château de Beloiel, often referred to as the Belgian Versailles, showcasing its extensive art collection, library, and resplendent gardens.

Wine enthusiasts will delight in a guided tour of the acclaimed Chant d’Éole vineyard, renowned for its sparkling wines crafted using traditional methods. The experience culminates in a tasting session featuring the vineyard’s signature Brut Blanc de Blancs, Brut Rosé, and Elixir Saint Georges. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to witness the artistry behind artisanal Belgian chocolate production, concluding with a delectable tasting.

The voyage unfolds aboard the MS Raymonde, boasting 11 opulent en-suite cabins, a refined restaurant, lounge bar, sun deck, and a relaxation area complete with a Jacuzzi. With a dedicated team of six crew members, including a masterful chef curating an array of culinary delights, guests are assured a bespoke and unforgettable experience.

Scheduled to operate from April to October 2025, the cruise offers packages starting from 2,815€ per person, inclusive of all meals and beverages onboard, excursions, complimentary use of bicycles, and port fees. Fly/cruise options are also available, promising convenience and flexibility for discerning travelers seeking to embark on an extraordinary Belgian escapade.
