From June to October, Air Greenland launched a weekly flight between Canada and Greenland, marking the first regular route between these two countries in the past decade. According to the airline's CEO, Jacob N. Senson, the route proved to be in demand, allowing Air Greenland to renew it for a second consecutive year. This flight opens new opportunities for both countries, fostering the development of tourism and cooperation in areas such as culture, sports, and even the mining industry.

The new route has played a significant role in fostering cultural exchange between the countries. For instance, Sheila U, a resident of the Canadian city of Iqaluit, was invited to conduct a traditional clothing workshop in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. According to her, the direct connection is helping to revive and strengthen the cultural identity of the Inuit. Traditional knowledge, such as sewing techniques, can now be shared and enriched through closer connections between these communities.

Interest in traveling this route exceeded expectations. Senson noted that besides the anticipated tourists and officials, the flight attracted those who decided to explore Greenland simply because they learned about the accessible route. Over 60% of the passengers were Canadian citizens, highlighting the growing interest in this remote but enchanting territory.

Flights are scheduled to resume from April to October 2025, significantly improving accessibility to the region and potentially increasing tourist traffic even further.
