Discover Yeovilton's Fleet Air Arm Museum with New Bus Route
Somerset Council has introduced a new bus service to the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton, providing an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to explore this fascinating attraction without the hassle of driving.
The Buses of Somerset have adjusted the 54 Yeovil to Taunton route to include four daily return trips to the Yeovilton museum from Monday to Saturday. These off-peak services are perfect for those looking to enjoy a day out at the museum, one of Somerset’s top destinations. This trial service will run until September, making it a great option for summer excursions.
Somerset is renowned for its stunning countryside, historic sites, charming towns, and picturesque beaches. With single bus fares remaining at just £2, exploring these beautiful locations has never been more affordable. The Summer Bus It campaign, running throughout the season, aims to highlight the best places and activities accessible by bus.
In addition to the new service to Yeovilton, Buses of Somerset have also enhanced other routes. The 28, 28a, and X28 timetables now include additional services during peak times between Taunton and Norton Fitzwarren/Cotford St Luke. The 2 and 4 Taunton routes have also been revised to increase capacity, ensuring more convenience for travelers.
James Eustace, Commercial Director at Buses of Somerset, expressed his excitement about the trial route to the Fleet Air Arm Museum. He noted that this service supports both those working at the Royal Navy base and museum visitors. He encourages everyone to take the bus and enjoy a fantastic day out.
