Due to checks at the EU border, passengers on Eurostar traveling from Britain may encounter difficulties

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has warned that passengers traveling from the UK on Eurostar trains may face "chaos" on the continent. The reason for this is the new computerized border scheme that will be implemented in the European Union from October this year.

Thus, travelers entering the EU with or without visas will have to go through an automated entry/exit system. This is reported by Yahoo News.

It is noted that the new system will register the biometric data of non-EU citizens, record the dates of their entry and exit, track cases of overstaying, and gather information on entry denial.

"As it stands, these new post-Brexit checks will cause havoc at St. Pancras station (London's Eurostar station), leading to reduced services and potentially huge queues for passengers during peak hours. This is a direct consequence of Brexit, and it's not a problem that ministers can wash their hands of," said Sadiq Khan, a representative of the main opposition Labor Party and Mayor of London.
