Starting from 22 July, Nottinghamshire County Council is set to roll out new Nottsbus on Demand services across the county, enhancing travel options for both locals and visitors. This expansion includes a new Central Rushcliffe Zone, an evening service in Newark, and an extended service in Mansfield.

The new Central Rushcliffe service, operating Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm, will cover several communities, including Colston Bassett, Hickling, Kinoulton, and Upper Broughton. It will allow travelers to easily access key points in East Leake, Keyworth, and Cotgrave, as well as Gamston Morrisons for connections to other bus services. This service replaces the previous 850, 852, 853, and 863 bus routes, offering a more flexible travel option for those exploring the area.

In Newark, a new evening on-demand service will run from 7:30 pm to midnight, Monday to Saturday. This service covers Newark Town Centre, Coddington, Balderton, Hawtonville, and Winthorpe, providing convenient access to Newark Castle and Newark Northgate railway stations, as well as local shops, bars, restaurants, and leisure spots. This is particularly beneficial for travelers looking to enjoy Newark's nightlife without the hassle of driving or parking.

Mansfield's evening on-demand service, which started in August 2022, will be extended to six nights a week, operating from 7:30 pm to midnight, Monday to Saturday. This extended service offers more flexibility for travelers wishing to explore Mansfield’s vibrant nightlife or commute during the evening.

The Nottsbus on Demand service does not follow a fixed route or timetable, allowing passengers to travel between bus stops and designated points within the operating zone where no scheduled bus service is available. Travelers can easily book their journey through a user-friendly, free app or via a dedicated phone line.

Neil Clarke MBE, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment at Nottinghamshire County Council, expressed that the council aims to offer more flexible and convenient travel options for residents and visitors with the launch of these new services. The council's commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and sustainable transport options makes it easier for travelers to explore Nottinghamshire’s diverse attractions and communities without the stress of planning routes or worrying about parking.
