Extra Trains for Cromer Carnival: A Travel Boost
Greater Anglia has announced the addition of two special trains to facilitate travel to and from the Cromer Carnival on Wednesday, August 21. This move aims to ease the journey for travelers and locals heading to the popular event.
For those planning a day trip, an additional morning train will depart Norwich at 10:10 AM, with stops at Hoveton & Wroxham at 10:25 AM, North Walsham at 10:39 AM, and arriving in Cromer at 10:55 AM. This schedule allows for a convenient start to the day, providing ample time to explore Cromer before the festivities begin.
In the evening, an extra service will leave Cromer at 10:09 PM, stopping at Roughton Road at 10:16 PM, Gunton at 10:22 PM, North Walsham at 10:28 PM, Worstead at 10:33 PM, Hoveton & Wroxham at 10:40 PM, Salhouse at 10:44 PM, and arriving back in Norwich at 10:57 PM. This ensures that visitors can enjoy the carnival's nighttime activities without worrying about late-night travel logistics.
Throughout the day, some train services will be retimed to allow for longer stops at Cromer, accommodating the expected influx of passengers. This adjustment is particularly beneficial for travelers who might need more time to board or disembark due to the larger crowds.
James Reeve, Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, emphasized the significance of the Cromer Carnival as a major attraction. The extra services are intended to make it easier for people to attend, and travelers are encouraged to purchase tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app to save time and avoid queues. Additionally, GroupSave discounts are available for groups of three or more, making the journey more economical.
For travelers, this announcement means a more convenient and stress-free way to visit the carnival, eliminating the need to drive and deal with parking. The new trains are longer and feature more seats, improving comfort for all passengers. However, patience is advised while boarding due to the anticipated higher number of travelers.
Passengers are also encouraged to use the full length of trains and platforms to ensure a smooth boarding experience. Full details of train times and fares are available on the Greater Anglia website, providing all the necessary information to plan a seamless trip.
