Flights to Dubai: only 0.1% chance of luggage getting lost
An average of 2.7 million bags per month were moved from September 2023 to January 2024 from DXB to 140 countries. The likelihood of mishandled baggage by Dubai-based Emirates is very minimal - 1.3 per 1,000 pieces, the airline assured.
The company maintains an almost perfect 99.9% baggage handling success rate during the busiest travel months. This was reported by zawya.com.
"Emirates has an excellent baggage handling record, with 99.9 percent of all baggage coming from or going through Dubai reaching its owner on time, at the correct destination," the airline said.
In the rare cases when baggage is delayed, some different scenarios can occur, Emirates added, noting: "Sometimes luggage tags containing important information are accidentally torn off, or a bag may fall off the underground baggage belt while rotating. The fast-paced turnaround is captured on camera and can be corrected immediately."
