Earlier in the fall, flydubai began offering consistent flights to Bhairahawa, enhancing travel links linking Dubai and Nepal. The inaugural journey arrived at Gautam Buddha International Airfield, positioned in Siddharthanagar, and was welcomed with a ceremonial water display. This new path now serves as flydubai’s second route within Nepal, expanding its established service to Kathmandu and giving passengers an alternative option.

The addition of Bhairahawa to flydubai’s routes enhances direct entry to the Lumbini region, facilitating travel for those interested in exploring Nepal outside the main city. Previously, travelers had few entry alternatives, often depending on the crowded Kathmandu airport. The new option through Dubai provides a straightforward journey to Bhairahawa, enabling greater travel possibilities and supporting increased interest in connections linking Nepal and the UAE.

With this connection, tourists can easily reach Lumbini, recognized globally where Buddha was born and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area contains ancient temples, the Maya Devi Sanctuary, and other historic sites that attract both devotees and travelers. Beyond Lumbini, the nearby region offers diverse attractions, from scenic vistas to traditional towns that provide an authentic look at Nepalese customs and history.

This route also introduces new chances to discover the Terai lowlands, a less-frequented yet ecologically diverse part of Nepal, known for its wildlife reserves and natural habitats. Wildlife enthusiasts will find Chitwan National Park nearby, which is home to rare animals such as the one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger, creating a unique contrast to Nepal’s mountainous terrain.

For travelers, this path provides a more streamlined way to reach southern Nepal without needing a stopover in Kathmandu. It not only shortens travel time but also offers a smoother transition for those looking to explore sites outside the capital, making it an ideal gateway for those interested in both cultural sites and natural scenery.
