In early 2025, the UK will launch a major initiative to attract travelers to popular filming sites across the country. The campaign, led by Visit Britain and titled "Starring Great Britain," will highlight destinations like Bath, Oxford, and Manchester, which have been featured in well-known films and series. By focusing on lesser-known regions beyond London, this initiative aims to encourage visitors to discover new locations, allowing fans to see real-life places from their favorite scenes.

Among the selected locations for promotion is Alnwick Castle in Northumberland, where scenes from the Harry Potter films were shot. The castle offers tourists a chance to immerse themselves in a magical atmosphere through themed activities and guided tours. The campaign also emphasizes the beauty of Glencoe in Scotland, where scenes from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" were filmed, attracting travelers with its picturesque views and natural grandeur.

Another notable location is the monastery in Llangollen, which appeared in the series "House of the Dragon" and attracts fans of the fantasy genre. Wilton House in Wiltshire, famous for its role in the series "Bridgerton," also features prominently in the campaign with its impressive architecture and scenic gardens. These locations offer fans the chance to enjoy the atmosphere of kingdoms and palaces they've seen on screen.

Additionally, Visit Britain has introduced initiatives to improve infrastructure, including expanding transport routes to connect tourists to iconic filming locations. The UK government has invested in eco-friendly transport options, making travel between filming sites more comfortable and sustainable. These investments are set to support the growth of film tourism while reducing environmental impact .

As part of new offerings for tourists, some regions have started to provide guided tours dedicated to specific films and series. These tours not only showcase key locations but also offer historical insights, enriching visitors' experiences. This approach reflects Britain’s commitment to enhancing tourism with innovative and eco-friendly methods.
