Heavy snowfalls covered the southern regions of Germany, blocking air and rail traffic in some places. For example, an airplane froze to the runway at Munich Airport.

Hundreds of flights were cancelled due to bad weather conditions. According to The Guardian, an airport spokesman said that 760 flights were affected.

One video shows an airplane in the middle of the snow-white strip of the airport, which seems to be frozen to the ground.

Airport personnel were walking around it and a car with the number 112, which is considered an "emergency fire department" and "emergency medical service" in Germany, was parked. Perhaps the rescuers wanted to melt the ice with water.

The airport was closed on the morning of December 2 when more than 40 centimeters of snow fell overnight. Railroad connections were also affected.

Authorities warned residents of the danger on the streets and urged them not to leave their homes unless necessary. The snow brought traffic to a standstill in the city, paralyzing the movement.

The Bavarian State Police reported that they received 350 calls due to weather conditions on Friday evening. Some people were slightly injured in road collisions.

The airport is scheduled to reopen on Sunday, but it all depends on the amount of precipitation and air temperature.
