Greek airports are among the top 5 most efficient in high summer: passenger traffic has almost reached pre-pandemic levels

Greek airports reported a 14.8 percent increase in passenger traffic and ranked third among the five most efficient in Europe, GTP writes.
The best performer was the airport in Athens. This year, tourists rushed to explore the region's historical sights and discover the cradle of Greek culture.
Athens International Airport (AIA) handles more than 25 million passengers annually. This year it has shown the best results. In July, passenger traffic grew by 10.6 percent.
The smaller airports of Chania, Santorini and Corfu, although they cannot boast of as many arrivals and departures, also exceeded expectations.
Overall, passenger traffic at European airports in July was only 3 percent less than in July 2019.
