Growing Network: easyJet Adds The City of Derry as Its 22nd UK Airport

easyJet is set to expand its UK network by adding the City of Derry Airport as its 22nd UK destination and third in Northern Ireland. This new addition will begin in November, marking the low-cost carrier's first service to Derry. Notably, easyJet will operate two routes to Derry without Public Service Obligation (PSO) funding, joining the ranks of airlines that have previously served these routes.

easyJet to Derry

The two routes that easyJet will launch are from Edinburgh and Liverpool to Derry. The Edinburgh-Derry route, at 140 nautical miles (260 km), will be one of easyJet’s shortest routes, sharing the seventh-shortest spot with London Gatwick-Jersey. Both routes will operate on the same day, which might occasionally see two easyJet aircraft on the ground simultaneously due to slight delays or early arrivals. The Edinburgh flights are scheduled to arrive at 09:50 and depart at 10:20, while the Liverpool services will arrive at 10:40 and depart at 11:10.
