In recent years, there has been a growing interest in naturist clubs in Berlin, such as Helios Club, located in the Grunewald forest. These clubs follow the tradition of Freikörperkultur (FKK), or "Free Body Culture," which originated in Germany at the end of the 19th century and involves participating in health activities without clothing.

Helios Club offers its members various amenities, including changing rooms, lockers, a cafeteria, and sports facilities. The club's grounds feature tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, basketball hoops, and a running track. Occasionally, camping weekends with night swimming, music, and barbecues are organized.

Membership in Helios Club is possible by recommendation from existing members. New members can visit the club as guests up to three times before starting the membership process, which includes a background check, an interview, and a probationary period. The club is family-oriented and maintains strict safety rules.

For those who want to experience Freikörperkultur without the formalities of membership, several lakes in Berlin, such as Teufelssee, Plötzensee, and Halensee, offer a liberal atmosphere where nude bathing is permitted.

Naturist clubs are becoming part of a health and cultural trend in Berlin, providing residents and tourists with the opportunity to spend time in nature and engage in sports in a natural setting.

Additionally, the city authorities have noted the positive impact of these clubs on local tourism. The unique blend of health benefits and cultural experiences attracts visitors from various parts of the world, contributing to the city's economy and promoting a more open-minded and health-conscious community.
