ITA Airways and Lufthansa Group Broaden Collaboration: New Travel Possibilities
In the year twenty twenty-five, ITA Airways and Lufthansa Group will strengthen their alliance by launching joint flight agreements designed to improve aviation connectivity across the region. This plan will allow passengers to book interconnected journeys operated by both airlines under a single itinerary. More than a hundred new routes will become available, enhancing travel coordination and increasing the range of accessible destinations within Europe.
This initiative provides greater flexibility and convenience. A single reservation will cover multiple flights managed by various airlines, ensuring seamless baggage handling and efficient transfer procedures. Additionally, members of travel loyalty programs such as Volare and Miles & More will have the opportunity to accumulate and utilize reward points on shared flights, offering an enhanced travel experience.
Beginning on the third day of the second month of twenty twenty-five, members registered in the Volare program will qualify to accrue and redeem mileage rewards on flights run by Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines. Likewise, travelers enrolled in the Miles & More initiative will receive similar benefits when flying with ITA Airways. Additionally, starting from the thirtieth day of the third month of twenty twenty-five, ITA Airways will move its services to Lufthansa Group terminals at Frankfurt (Main Terminal) and Munich (Second Terminal), streamlining transit for passengers.
Over twenty integrated itineraries and more than one hundred interlining flight options from ITA Airways' summer schedule of its subsidiaries within the Lufthansa Group will become operational. This expansion will provide additional choices for air travel and improve scheduling flexibility. Additionally, beyond two hundred fifty operated by the Lufthansa Group network hubs will be available to ITA Airways passengers thus providing further access to European and extra-European vacation spots.
ITA Airways Lufthansa Group partners are making this kind of cooperative effort a big stride and a big move towards providing traveler benefits. This initiative will offer passengers on a more flexible innovative route network — refined transfer services and better loyalty program integration hence providing them with added travel options and better mobility air travel is envisioned to be.
