Starting July 12, 2024, J-AIR will become the first Japanese airline to offer an unlimited inflight video streaming service on all 14 of its Embraer 190 (E90) aircraft. This service marks a significant milestone, coinciding with the completion of inflight internet installation on these regional aircraft.

The new "J-AIR Unlimited Video Streaming Service" will be available until September 30, 2024, providing passengers with free access to streaming content during flights. This innovation is made possible through a partnership with Intelsat, enhancing the existing inflight Wi-Fi that supports internet, email, and social networking services.

J-AIR's President, Shunsuke Honda, expressed excitement about the new service, sharing his own positive experience during a test flight. John Hopkins from Intelsat highlighted the advanced satellite technology ensuring smooth connectivity for passengers. This collaboration aims to make flights more enjoyable and productive.

Passengers can access the streaming service on selected routes, including flights between Tokyo (Haneda) and Misawa, Akita, Yamagata, Yamaguchi Ube, and Miyazaki, as well as between Osaka (Itami) and Sendai, Kagoshima, and others. The service will not be available on the Embraer 170 aircraft.

The JAL Group plans to further enhance inflight Wi-Fi by increasing connectivity speeds on domestic flights and offering free access on international routes in the near future. These efforts aim to improve passenger convenience and comfort, adding new value to air travel experiences.
