KM Malta Airlines and ITA Airways have officially entered into a comprehensive codeshare agreement, enhancing the connectivity and convenience of their flight networks. This partnership, signed recently, enables travelers to book a single ticket covering multiple flights with both airlines, ensuring a smooth travel experience from check-in to baggage claim at their final destination.

Under the agreement, ITA Airways will add its 'AZ' code to all KM Malta Airlines flights operating between Italy and Malta. Conversely, KM Malta Airlines will place its code on ITA Airways flights connecting Malta with Rome and Milan, extending to other Italian domestic routes and select international destinations. This strategic move aims to broaden the market reach of both airlines significantly.

David Curmi, Executive Chairman of KM Malta Airlines, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that it expands their access to various airports across Italy and beyond. He emphasized that Italy is a crucial market for KM Malta Airlines and that this partnership will strengthen their presence and service offerings in the region. Similarly, Andrea Benassi, General Manager of ITA Airways, expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the agreement aligns with ITA Airways' growth strategy and will enhance connectivity for passengers, fostering stronger economic ties between Italy and Malta.

KM Malta Airlines' Summer 2024 schedule, effective until October 26, 2024, includes services to 17 airports across key European cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Catania, Dusseldorf, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Lyon, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Prague, Rome, Vienna, and Zurich. This extensive network aims to provide travelers with diverse travel options across Europe.

For Summer 2024, ITA Airways plans to operate flights to 57 destinations, comprising 16 domestic, 26 international, and 15 intercontinental routes. Notably, new nonstop flights from Rome Fiumicino to key markets in North America, Africa, and the Middle East have been introduced, including routes to Chicago, Toronto, Riyadh, Accra, Dakar, and Jeddah. These additions enhance ITA Airways' global connectivity, complementing their existing intercontinental destinations like New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, San Francisco, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, and New Delhi.

This codeshare agreement between KM Malta Airlines and ITA Airways is set to provide passengers with a more seamless and comprehensive travel experience, while also strengthening the aviation ties between Italy and Malta.
