Kuwait has resumed issuing visas for family, commercial, and tourist purposes. The Ministry of Interior of Kuwait noted that according to the new rules, expats living in the country can obtain a visa for a visit through the Matta platform.

Such a decision takes into account the social needs of expats and can be issued to parents, spouses, and children of foreigners with earnings of at least KD 400 (Kuwaiti dinars) or 4770 dirhams, as well as other relatives for those who earn at least KD 800. This was reported by Gulf News.

Conditions for obtaining a visa:

  • availability of round-trip tickets from national carriers;
  • no requirement to change the place of residence for the visitor;
  • compliance with the terms of the visit;
  • medical treatment for visitors will be provided in private hospitals and medical centers, except for public hospitals;
  • if the period of stay is exceeded, the visitor and the sponsor will be registered in the security control system for legal action following the Law on the Residence of Foreigners.

In addition, commercial visas can be obtained at the request of a Kuwaiti company according to the activities and nature of the company's work with the available qualifications, and tourist visas can be obtained at the point of entry, through an electronic visa on the official website (for citizens of 53 countries) or through hotels and companies connected to the system of the General Department of Residence.
