A passenger plane with 450 passengers was struck by lightning near Vancouver Airport in Canada. The Air Canada Boeing 777-300 was en route to London and continued on its planned route after being struck by lightning. According to one of the pilots, the tragedy was avoided thanks to a special lightning suppression system, reports City News Everywhere.

The corresponding video was posted by 19-year-old novice pilot Ethan West. The date of the incident is March 3, around 19:30 (local time). According to the man, that day he decided to come to Vancouver Airport to watch the Boeing 777 take off.

The novice pilot noted that he tracked the Boeing's subsequent flight, and it landed on time at Heathrow Airport in London. The plane was then inspected, the portal noted, and it was found that there was no damage. They also explained that, according to the US National Weather Service, lightning strikes passenger planes once or twice a year.
