The UK’s transition into winter time was celebrated by an extraordinary event. For only the second time in its history, the iconic London Eye rotated in reverse, offering a rare spectacle for both visitors and residents since its inauguration.

Breaking from its usual clockwise motion, the London Eye rotated counterclockwise for about 30 minutes, just before opening to the public. This symbolic reversal highlighted Britain’s return to winter hours and underscored the importance of this seasonal tradition.

Originally constructed to mark the new millennium, the London Eye has become a beloved fixture on London’s skyline, drawing millions of sightseers annually. Its 32 capsules, representing each of London’s boroughs, provide sweeping views of the city below, capturing the capital's essence.

For those visiting, this unique occasion offered a fresh perspective on an already iconic experience. Although the counterclockwise motion might seem minor, it added a distinctive touch to the sightseeing journey, celebrating Britain’s timeless traditions. Witnesses of this event left with a memory that was not only visually captivating but also profoundly symbolic.
