Lufthansa and airBaltic Extend Partnership, Benefiting Travelers

Lufthansa Group has officially extended its wet lease partnership with Latvia’s airBaltic until after the summer of 2025. This continued collaboration will see airBaltic provide up to 21 fuel-efficient Airbus A220-300 aircraft during the summer and five in winter, allowing Lufthansa to enhance its flight offerings across Europe during peak travel seasons.

For travelers, this extension brings increased flexibility and convenience. The additional aircraft will help Lufthansa Group airlines adjust their flight schedules based on seasonal demand, especially during the busy summer period. As a result, popular destinations across Europe will see more frequent flights, offering passengers more options when planning their journeys. This move is aimed at ensuring smoother connections to Lufthansa’s long-haul flights, particularly from key hubs, benefiting those traveling to destinations outside of Europe.

Thanks to the extended Lufthansa-airBaltic partnership, travelers will have even more exciting destinations to explore. The Airbus A220-300 aircraft, known for its fuel efficiency and comfort, will operate on a number of routes across Europe, opening up easier access to several high-demand locations. For example, those flying out of Munich can enjoy direct flights to stunning destinations such as Alicante, known for its beautiful Mediterranean beaches, and Asturias, offering lush landscapes and historical charm​.

Additionally, travelers can also explore cities like Barcelona, Bergen, and Bordeaux—each offering a unique blend of culture, nature, and gastronomy. These expanded routes not only enhance travel flexibility but also improve connectivity for those seeking adventure in less-visited parts of Europe. For instance, Bergen, a gateway to Norway’s famous fjords, will be more accessible for nature lovers​.
