n a significant day at Brussels Airport, Lufthansa Group showcased its commitment to a strong and united Europe. Today, four Airbus A320s, each from Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, aligned on the tarmac, each adorned with the 'Yes to Europe' slogan and the European circle-of-stars emblem. This visual statement occurs ahead of the forthcoming European elections, emphasizing the importance of democratic engagement.

The event attracted approximately 100 invitees, including notable figures like Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, and Alexander De Croo, Belgium’s Prime Minister. Both leaders advocated for a robust and liberated Europe, reflecting the overarching message of the gathering.

Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa Group, articulated the essence of this initiative. He emphasized the critical role of the European elections, urging citizens to exercise their voting rights to fortify democracy and maintain the continent’s unity and freedom. According to Spohr, this unity is essential not only for political stability but also for economic strength across Europe.

The four aircraft, which have been circulating around Europe for several weeks, serve as airborne ambassadors of the European idea. With the European Parliament elections scheduled between June 6 and 9, 2024, Lufthansa’s campaign is a timely reminder of the power of a united electorate.

This initiative by Lufthansa Group not only underscores the importance of participation in the democratic process but also highlights the role of corporations in advocating for political and economic stability. As these planes traverse the skies of Europe, they carry with them a message of unity, strength, and the enduring value of democracy.
