Lufthansa Launches New Seattle-Munich Route
Lufthansa has initiated a new non-stop service between Seattle and Munich, utilizing the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This new route, which began operations today, complements the existing daily service from Seattle to Frankfurt, enhancing Lufthansa's presence in the Pacific Northwest.
Flights will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight from Munich departs at 3:35 pm and lands in Seattle at 4:59 pm, while the return flight leaves Seattle at 6:50 pm and arrives in Munich at 1:45 pm the following day. All times are local.
Dirk Janzen, Vice President of Passenger Sales for The Americas at Lufthansa Group Airlines, highlighted that this new route provides direct access to Munich, which is expected to benefit travelers in the Pacific Northwest and strengthen economic ties between Germany and the U.S. west coast.
The A350-900 aircraft, known for its fuel efficiency and modern cabin design, is part of Lufthansa's efforts to offer a comfortable and sustainable travel experience. Passengers can choose from Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class.
This new route also enhances worldwide connectivity for passengers traveling between Seattle and Munich, a major European hub. It supports Lufthansa’s broader expansion strategy in North America, which includes new direct routes from Minneapolis-St. Paul and Raleigh-Durham to Frankfurt, and increased capacity on the Washington Dulles to Munich route with the introduction of the A380.
Overall, the Seattle-Munich route is a significant addition to Lufthansa's network, providing more travel options and strengthening connections between North America and Europe.
