Frankfurt Airport, one of the busiest airports in Europe, appears to have encountered an unexpected issue - an invasion of mice. These small rodents have become a significant problem that poses a threat to passengers and staff alike.

Mice have been spotted in waiting rooms, at boarding gates, and even in airport food outlets. According to Frankfurtflyer, the airport administration has responded by implementing enhanced measures to address this problem.

The presence of mice poses the risk of food contamination and the spread of dangerous diseases such as salmonella, typhoid, and toxoplasmosis.

In addition to hygienic issues, mice can also damage electrical cables, which carries the risk of short circuits and fires.

The airline Lufthansa, one of the main users of the airport, is particularly concerned about this issue, as reported by the newspaper. Allegedly, together with the Fraport airport administration, they are taking measures to address the mouse problem.

It is reported that thorough cleaning, disinfection, installation of mousetraps, and other preventive measures are all being implemented to restore Frankfurt Airport to a safe and hygienic condition.

The rodents are believed to have entered the airport last fall when neighboring buildings were infested.

As previously reported by TravelWise, there was an unpleasant incident at this airport when a passenger claimed to be carrying three hand grenades.
