Norfolk County Council is planning new bus stops along the A146 in Loddon, aiming to improve travel options for local residents. The proposed stops would be built at existing laybys on the road.

Currently, the X2 bus service between Norwich and Lowestoft bypasses Loddon. The new stops will provide access to this route, along with the 146 service between Norwich and Southwold. This change will significantly enhance local connectivity.

Council leader and Loddon representative, Kay Mason Billig, confirmed the plans, stating, "I am in discussions with officers about whether this would be a possible scheme, and we are currently awaiting the design brief."

The addition of these bus stops responds to local demand for better transportation options. It is expected to reduce the number of cars on the road by offering residents an alternative means of travel to Norwich and Lowestoft.

For travelers, this development is particularly beneficial. The new stops will provide easier and more convenient access to popular destinations. Those visiting the scenic coastal town of Southwold or exploring the vibrant city of Norwich will find their journeys more straightforward and enjoyable. It also opens up Loddon as a more accessible destination, encouraging more visitors to explore its local attractions.

Mrs. Mason Billig expressed hope that the construction would begin before April, marking an important milestone in improving the travel infrastructure in Loddon.
