New Evening Bus Services Enhance Travel Options in Lancashire
Starting Monday, July 22, The Blackburn Bus Company will extend its Hotline bus route, providing additional late evening services between Blackburn and Preston. This new schedule, operating from Monday to Saturday, offers more flexibility for travelers exploring the region.
The expanded timetable includes departures from Blackburn Bus Station at 9:18 PM and 10:18 PM, with return trips from Preston Bus Station at 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM. These 34-minute journeys stop at key points along the route, including Walton-le-Dale, Hoghton, and Feniscowles. Other existing services between Preston, Blackburn, and Burnley remain unaffected.
This development comes in response to Lancashire’s growing evening economy, aiming to support both locals and visitors in making the most of their nighttime activities. The additional services make it easier for travelers to enjoy evening events such as cinema trips, dining experiences, and cultural performances at venues like Preston Playhouse, Blackburn Empire, and King George’s Hall without worrying about transportation.
Travelers can benefit from the new service's affordability, with fares after 7 PM set at just £1, thanks to Lancashire’s £8.5 million Bus Service Improvement Plan. This initiative not only promotes cost-effective travel but also encourages safer journeys by allowing travelers to leave their cars at home.
