New Orleans Airport Achieves Top Rank for Third Consecutive Year
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) has been named the Best Airport in North America in the category for 5 to 15 million passengers per year, for the third consecutive year, according to the 2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program by Airports Council International (ACI) World. This prestigious recognition is based on extensive surveys conducted with passengers at the airport.
MSY stands out as one of only three airports in North America to consistently secure this title in its passenger volume category. The accolade reflects the airport's commitment to providing an exceptional travel experience, underscored by extensive customer service initiatives and continuous improvement in facilities and operations.
Judge Michael Bagneris, Chair of the New Orleans Aviation Board, emphasized the regional pride in MSY's sustained performance, attributing it to the dedication to high-quality passenger service that resonates with the spirit of the Gulf Coast region.
Luis Felipe de Oliveira, ACI World Director General, highlighted the critical role of customer service excellence in the current fast-evolving travel landscape. He noted that maintaining high standards in customer experience is essential for airports aspiring to be not just travel gateways but memorable destinations in themselves.
The ASQ program, renowned for its rigorous assessment standards, measures passenger satisfaction across 34 key performance indicators including security wait times, cleanliness, and amenities such as Wi-Fi and lounges. Kevin Dolliole, Director of Aviation, credited the airport's achievement to the collaborative efforts of over 4,000 employees who ensure efficient and safe operations, enhancing New Orleans' renowned hospitality.
