Norse Atlantic Airways has inaugurated its first route from Greece, launching a new direct service between Athens and New York City. The European low-cost carrier will operate this route up to five times weekly throughout the summer, with service running until October 26.

The new route connects Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Norse Atlantic Airways, known for its affordable fares and efficient service, will use its Boeing 787 aircraft, equipped with 338 seats, to operate these flights. The westbound flight to New York has a block time of 10 hours and 40 minutes, while the eastbound flight to Athens takes 9 hours and 35 minutes.

"We are excited to introduce this new direct service, offering travelers a convenient and efficient way to travel between Athens and New York. With our commitment to delivering exceptional service and comfort, passengers can expect an unforgettable travel experience with Norse Atlantic," said Bjorn Tore Larsen, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Norse Atlantic Airways.

Norse's aircraft offer two cabin classes: Economy and Norse Premium. Passengers can choose from three fare packages, with prices starting at $260 for a one-way Economy ticket and $497 for a one-way Premium ticket.

Expanding Operations in the US

Norse Atlantic Airways is expanding its presence in the United States, with 325 roundtrip flights scheduled to and from the US in July, excluding flights operated by Norse Atlantic UK. The airline serves routes from major European cities, including Oslo, Paris, Athens, and Berlin, to various US destinations. The busiest route is from Rome's Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport to JFK, with daily flights and additional flights on select days.

When including its UK operations, Norse Atlantic has 625 roundtrip flights scheduled in July, offering nearly 212,000 seats. The most frequented route is from London Gatwick Airport to JFK, with two daily flights and a total seat offering of almost 42,000.

However, despite this growth, Norse Atlantic has decided to discontinue its route from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Miami International Airport. Launched in December 2023, this route aimed to provide European travelers with a winter escape to Florida. Due to low seat occupancy, with only 62% of seats filled between December and February, the route will not be available this winter.

Norse Atlantic Airways continues to adapt its route offerings based on passenger demand, ensuring efficient and cost-effective travel options for its customers.
