Over 7,300 acres of terrain: the most picturesque ski resort in the United States
March is perhaps the most exciting time to go to the mountains. It's when many ski destinations see the most snowfall, and you can catch a few extra spring ski days.
But if you want to enjoy the mountains again before the season ends, don't go to just any mountain. Instead, head to the most picturesque mountains in America, as emphasized by travelandleisure.com.
To help people plan the perfect ski vacation, The Family Vacation Guide, a website dedicated to helping families plan top-notch trips, has released its Family Ski Index.
"We ranked a segment of the overall research data that looked at the number of Instagram posts for each location. Then we ranked the destinations based on the number of mentions to create a list of the most photogenic places. And it's no surprise that Park City, Utah, took the top spot. It was recognized as the most Instagrammed ski resort in the United States in 2024 with a total of 1.4 million Instagram posts," the site's representative shared.
Park City is followed by another great place - Jackson Hole Resort in Wyoming. It took the second place with 1.1 million Instagram posts.
"Named after the valley in which it is located, Jackson Hole Resort is well-known for its challenging slopes and stunning scenery. The resort offers an extensive network of trails that can be accessed via several lifts, which has earned it just over a million Instagram posts," the website says.
And in third place is Breckenridge, Colorado, which has almost 1 million posts. The Colorado resort was also ranked first among ski resorts on the site due to the large number of trails and lifts, as well as the fact that it was one of the most searched ski resorts in the country on Google in 2023.
The list of the most scenic places also includes Telluride, Colorado, and Truckee, California, which round out the top five. They are followed by Crested Butte, Colorado; Killington, Vermont; Vail, Colorado; Ogden, Utah; and Durango, Colorado, at number 10. And yes, they're all great places, but really, wherever you go to ski, it's going to be a great experience.
