Painting by former Queen of Denmark Margrethe II to be sold at auction: Price announced
In March, a painting by the former Queen of Denmark Margrethe II will be sold at auction. The lot is estimated at $11-15 thousand (414-564 thousand hryvnias).
This is stated on the website of the auction house Bruun Rasmussen.
The painting is dated 1988. It was a personal gift from Queen Margrethe to her then court marshal Hans Sølvhøj, and since then the painting has been in his family's possession.
"We are looking forward to offering this work by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, which is a testament to her great passion and prolific artistic and creative work," said Niels Boe-Hauggaard, Head of Contemporary Art at Bruun Rasmussen.
The Queen's works have previously been exhibited in many art museums, including Aros, Arken and Brandts Klædefabrik. However, according to the expert, they are rarely seen at auctions.
