Panic on Board: Incident with "Smoke" on Spring Airlines Flights
Passengers traveling on Spring Airlines flights witnessed an unusual phenomenon – the cabins of the aircraft filled with thick "smoke." These incidents occurred on flights from Shanghai to Guangzhou, as well as on routes from Yangzhou to Changchun. In both cases, the appearance of the "smoke" was caused by a condensation effect, triggered by a sharp temperature contrast between the humid air in the cabin and the cool air supplied by the air conditioning system.
Despite its resemblance to smoke, representatives of the airline assured that the phenomenon is safe and commonly occurs on flights, especially in conditions of high humidity and intensive air cooling. Onboard the aircraft, blankets were distributed due to the low temperature to ensure passenger comfort.
According to one eyewitness, the "fog" in the cabin dissipated approximately an hour after its appearance. Although the incident caught passengers' attention and caused brief concern, the airline emphasized that the situation was under complete control, with the crew following established procedures.
Such incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety standards and the crew's readiness to respond promptly to unexpected situations. Passengers should keep in mind that the sudden appearance of "smoke" in the cabin does not always indicate a fire or malfunction but can be caused by natural physical processes.
