Passenger shocked that airline rebooked her flight to an airport 2,600 miles away
The year did not start well for Alaska Airlines. The airline started with a doorstop falling off in early January, and now it's back under fire after a TikToker user revealed how they messed up her rescheduled flight.
The 24-year-old traveler Sofia (@neonsophia) told about the unexpected situation that happened to her. Alaska Airlines canceled her trip. The girl was not upset and expected to rebook her ticket. However, she was very surprised when she saw the new route," writes The Sun.
"Do you want to know the new departure point? It's not Baltimore, it's Los Angeles, California," says Sofia. Alaska Airlines appears to have rebooked her flight to depart from the West Coast, not the East Coast, where she was staying.
"I'm sorry, California is not Maryland. It's on the opposite side of the country," the passenger complains.
While it's normal for airlines to rebook tickets, even sometimes from another airport in the same city, it's not normal to rebook a flight to leave from such a distant state.
"How would that work?" - she said, laughing at the situation.
Although she said the airline was "doing everything they could," she said in the comments that she was "insisting on a refund" and admitted that she "won't be flying with them again."
Viewers could not believe it.
"Don't tell me that. I'm flying from Seattle to Los Angeles on Tuesday to go back to college," the concerned passenger wrote.
Others, however, said they had similar stories.
"I was supposed to be flying from San Diego to New York, and they changed my flight from San Diego to Seattle," said one passenger.
"The same thing happened to me today! I was put on a new flight with a 26-hour layover at Seattle Airport," another passenger wrote.
