For most Brits, a vacation abroad is a cheap and familiar option for a getaway. However, the United Kingdom is an island nation, and therefore, one should not forget about its opportunities for exploration and relaxation along the coast.

Today, especially given the quarantine experience, UK resorts and vacations within the country are gaining momentum again. Where to go and what the UK beaches can offer to local and foreign tourists is reported by The Scottish Sun.

Brighton

This seaside city is interesting for its 16th-century houses, which, although weathered by salty winds, remain unshakable. It's a great place to enjoy the ocean, eat fresh seafood and explore the colourful shops. You can stay here at the 3-star hotel The Southern Belle and eat at The Salt Room restaurant, which is located on the beach.

Bournemouth

The town is a haven for sports enthusiasts who can visit one of 28 themed climbing walls. Here you can visit the pier built in 1880, the oceanarium, or the grave of Frankenstein author Mary Shelley, who is buried in the churchyard of St. Peter's Cathedral. In addition, you can have a drink in the bar of the same name just across the street and stay at the Bournemouth Sands Hotel, a few hundred metres from the Western Rock.

Margate

Here tourists can see an underground attraction: the Shell Grotto. Its walls are decorated with a complex mosaic of shells and 4.6 million sea shells, but no one knows for sure when exactly this place was created. Every month, new hotels appear in Margate, such as Fort Road Hotel, Selina, and the Guesthouse No. 42 boutique hotel. Guests of the city should definitely visit the huge Dreamland theme park, which is well known as a popular place for filming Hollywood movies.
