Temporary TSA PreCheck® Enrollment at Lehigh Valley Airport This April
From April 22 to 26, Lehigh Valley International Airport will become the go-to destination for residents of Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas looking to enroll in the TSA PreCheck® program. During this period, a temporary enrollment center will operate, providing a convenient option for travelers to join this expedited airport security screening program.
The "pop-up" center, an innovative approach by TSA, will also offer enrollment for the Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Essential for maritime workers requiring access to secure areas of maritime facilities, the TWIC enrollment adds another layer of convenience for eligible individuals.
TSA PreCheck is an invaluable service for frequent travelers, allowing participants to pass through airport security more quickly, without the need to remove shoes, belts, or light jackets, and keeping laptops and compliant liquids in their bags. This program is available at over 200 airports nationwide, supported by approximately 100 airlines.
The temporary center will be housed in a specially marked RV or truck located in the airport's overflow parking area. It will operate from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Note that the mobile enrollment center is not wheelchair accessible; those needing accommodations can check the TSA's website for the nearest permanent facility.
To enroll, travelers should first pre-enroll online, then book an appointment. At their appointment, they will need to provide specified documents proving identity and citizenship, detailed on the Universal Enroll website. The application fee is $78 for five years and requires a credit card, money order, or certified check.
Once enrolled, participants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN), which can be added to airline reservations to enjoy faster screening. The KTN is valid for five years, streamlining airport experiences for frequent flyers.
This temporary enrollment initiative at Lehigh Valley Airport not only brings TSA's trusted traveler programs closer to residents but also highlights the ongoing commitment to enhancing travel safety and convenience for all.
