Thai AirAsia X has announced a limited-time service offering special flights connecting Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport with Harbin, China, in collaboration with Beijing Eagle Fly Aviation Company. The flights, running between 24 December 2024 and 8 February 2025, will provide travelers a non-stop route to Harbin for the city’s renowned Snow and Ice Carnival. This yearly event draws tourists from around the globe, eager to witness stunning ice sculptures and enjoy winter activities.

The exclusive charter services will operate as frequently as three times per week, totaling 21 round trips during the festival period. Harbin, famous for its extended winters and frigid climate, becomes a hub of winter attractions during this time. The airline routes, aboard the Airbus A330, offer a convenient travel option for those looking to experience this magical winter spectacle without lengthy layovers or complicated transfers.

In addition to the Ice and Snow Festival, Harbin offers numerous cultural and historical attractions. Visitors can explore St. Sophia Cathedral, an iconic structure built during Harbin’s Russian era, now serving as a museum. The city’s Central Street (Zhongyang Street) is another must-visit destination, lined with European-style buildings, shops, and restaurants, offering a unique blend of Russian and Chinese influences.

Travelers can also venture beyond Harbin to nearby attractions, such as Sun Island, known for its snow sculptures, or Siberian Tiger Park, home to over 100 of these majestic animals. The region’s natural beauty provides ample opportunity for sightseeing and outdoor activities, making Harbin an excellent winter destination for nature lovers and cultural explorers alike.

This new service by Thai AirAsia X represents a significant boost for travelers seeking to attend the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival. The direct flights not only simplify the journey but also offer more accessibility for tourists from Southeast Asia, who may not have previously considered Harbin for their winter vacations.

For travelers, the announcement means more options and convenience when planning a winter getaway. Harbin, with its extraordinary festival and rich cultural experiences, is now more accessible than ever, offering a rare chance to combine adventure, culture, and winter fun into one unforgettable trip.
