From picturesque beaches and forests with clear lakes to the gambling capital or a noisy leisure time in one of the world's largest metropolitan areas, America offers local and foreign tourists a variety of options for recreation. Everyone can find something amazing among the 50 American states, but 10 of them are still the leaders among travelers.

Which states have the most iconic sights in the country, the most interesting natural parks and a variety of entertainment? TheTravel has selected the top 10 states by the number of visitors in 2022, which can offer tourists much more than others in the country.

Arizona (40.19 million)

The first thing that comes to mind when talking about Arizona is the Grand Canyon. It is a place for true explorers and adventurers, so it is not surprising that so many people visit Arizona. Here, tourists can visit deserted ghost towns, Monument Valley, or the real places of power and attractions of Sedona. It is recommended to go here in the summer when the weather is most acceptable for tourists.

North Carolina (43 million)

This is one of the popular destinations on the list that offers travelers the pleasure of visiting beaches, exciting road trips, and discovering new underrated places. In addition, this state has the most delicious and fresh food. And this is not surprising, as North Carolina is a predominantly agricultural state, and therefore ideal for relaxing and having barbecues.

Virginia (108 million)

This state is called the "Mother of Presidents" because 8 presidents of the United States of America were born here, including: Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, John Tyler, Thomas Wilson, and the first President of the United States George Washington. This state is interesting not only for its history but also for its nature. Here you can relax along the Atlantic coast on some of the local beaches, such as Cape Charles Beach.

Illinois (111.3 million)

This is a wonderful place that offers tourists to admire the amazing hills, forests, water areas, and other attractions. In addition, this state is home to the city of Chicago, which is one of the largest cities in the United States. When you arrive here, you should definitely visit the well-preserved authentic Galena city and see the local state parks.

Florida (137 million)

For beach lovers, Florida offers stunning resorts that are visited by a huge number of tourists every year. In addition, the local subtropical climate is ideal for finding new adventures. Here you can focus on visiting local parks such as: "Magic Kingdom or Everglades. Or, you can devote your time to nightlife by visiting local clubs and lounges.

Georgia (167.7 million)

Pennsylvania (180 million)

It is one of the most important states in America that contributed to the formation and development of the country. It was here that the founding documents were discussed and signed, and therefore Pennsylvania is interesting for those interested in history.
