The best and worst airports in the world are named
For many years, the German claims management company AirHelp has been ranking the world's largest air carriers. In its analysis, the organization, which specializes in airline disruption claims, ranks airports according to three criteria: efficiency, customer opinion, and food and shopping.
Its latest list is based on data collected in 2022: it shows that Tokyo Haneda International Airport comes out on top with an overall score of 8.83, Express reports.
The Japanese airport was followed by Brazil's Recife/Guararapis-Gilberto Freire International Airport, which received 8.52 points, and another Japanese hub, Tokyo Narita International Airport, which received 8.49 points.
Although these airports are considered the best in terms of the services they offer, the picture that emerges from the analysis is quite different from the bottom of the ranking.
The worst airport according to AirHelp in 2022 was Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada, which is used by about 44 million people every year.
The Canadian air hub received an overall score of 6.11, including 5.33 for on-time performance, 6.88 for customer opinion, and 7.67 for food and shopping.
The penultimate in the AirHelp ranking is Indonesia's Lombok International Airport, which performed much worse than Toronto Airport when it comes to efficiency, with a score of 4.97.
On the other hand, it scored better in terms of customer satisfaction (8.47) and food and shopping (8.35), for an overall score of 6.35.
One of the UK's airports, Luton, also performed poorly in this ranking, receiving an overall score of 6.48 and ranking second to last.
