The best undiscovered tourist destination is located right in Central Texas: what it's all about

A group of experts from CNN Travel analyzed interesting places for tourists to visit in 2024. The list of the best places even included destinations such as Greece, Morocco, Panama, and Greenland.

However, according to the report, Texas Hill Country was ranked first. This is one of the three regions of the United States presented in the report, as reported by Austin CultureMap.

The remaining participants in the ranking are freshwater springs in northwest Michigan and Florida.

Texas Hill Country is known for its karstic terrain and high rocky hills made of limestone or granite. According to CNN Travel experts, tourists often make stops to enjoy nature trails, wineries (such as Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg in Texas Hill Country, Bell Mountain), and dance halls in the region.

"The Hill Country, located in the heart of Texas, boasts its own natural springs. One of the best spots, Krause Springs in Spicewood, attracts visitors not only with its spring water pool and natural pool - it also has a butterfly garden full of charming bluebells. And the Blue Bonnet Cafe, which serves some of the most divine cream pies in the world, is just a short drive from Marble Falls," describes this area of Texas.

According to the CNN Travel report, they mainly aimed to find "places that are still largely undiscovered, or attractive in the off-season, or often overlooked because of their neighboring competitors."

This also includes places that, they say, "make it easy for tourists to visit, as well as those that pay close attention to promoting sustainable tourism."
