Suzanne Walder, from Ashford, Kent, booked a stay at the Riu Touareg Hotel in Boa Vista, Cape Verde, last month with a group of friends to celebrate a friend's birthday there.
The £15,000 all-inclusive week-long vacation was booked through TUI, a travel company that promised a resort that would leave you "satisfied", Deadline reports.
But as it turned out, the dream vacation could turn into a living hell. Suzanne claims that when she and her friends first arrived at their rooms, they noticed bugs in the sheets and upholstered furniture, as well as insects falling directly on their heads from the bathroom vent.
She also claims that the all-inclusive lunches they were promised were exactly the same - consisting of microwave hamburgers, sandwiches and a bowl of fruit.
The British woman claims that she also noticed two dead rats near the main restaurant, and that the pool was so dirty that you couldn't see your feet while swimming.
Complaining about the hotel, Suzanne says her group was offered free champagne, but the next day three of them got diarrhea.
