The United Kingdom has finally introduced a new rule regarding visitor visas, which will take effect from January 31, 2024.

Previously, individuals faced challenges in finding employment in the United Kingdom under visa regulations. Now, the UK has addressed this issue with changes to visitor visas. It has been announced that individuals will be permitted to work in the UK while holding visitor visas. Additionally, the updated immigration rules published by the UK government will allow for additional business-related activities, as reported by Travel And Tour World.

Under the updated regulations, visitors will be permitted to maintain their employment with their foreign employer while they are in the UK.

In addition, the primary intention should be clear and aligned with the purpose of tourism, family visitation, or other non-work-related activities.

The extension of visitor visas encompasses the following provisions:

Right to work with clients: Visitors with such visas may engage in client work under specific circumstances. They are permitted to work for companies with branches both in the UK and abroad. A portion of the work may involve client-related activities conducted abroad. Moreover, the project must be assigned by the visitor's employer abroad, not directly by the UK client.

Working from the United Kingdom: Individuals visiting the country will be allowed to work within the UK; however, remote work should not be the primary purpose of their visit.

Other activities for lawyers: Lawyers are now permitted to participate in arbitration proceedings, provide teaching services, act as expert witnesses, and offer advice.

Permitted Paid Engagement (PPE): Paid engagements will not necessitate separate visas. Activities can be planned within 30 days of arrival.

Jeremy Hunt, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has previously commented on visitor visas. He has indicated that the regulations for business visitors will be broadened to accommodate a wider range of approved activities and paid events.
