The world's largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, is getting ready for its maiden voyage
The American cruise line Royal Caribbean is preparing to send its giant Icon of the Seas on its first seven-day cruise. Icon of the Seas is the world's largest liner and has claimed this title from another ship, Wonder of the Seas.
According to the company's website, the ship will set sail on January 27th from the port of Miami. It will impress travelers with its variety of services and entertainment.
There will be five "districts" on the ship's territory: Thrill Island, where a large water park will be located; Chill Island, where there will be a significant number of bars and swimming pools for relaxation; Surfside, an area for family recreation; The Hideaway, where there will be an imitation of the beach; AquaDome, an area for evening rest and relaxation.
The creators claim that the ship features a 17-meter-high waterfall. It can accommodate 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew members. It is 365 meters long and 48 meters wide. It is one and a half times larger than the Titanic and 5 times heavier.
