On New Year's Eve, passengers who wanted to cross the English Channel to get from the UK to continental Europe were stuck in London. Eurostar trains were forced to delay due to the flood.

Thousands of victims have been reported, whose New Year's Eve plans have been disrupted. According to UPI, the flooding occurred in the southeast of England.

"Due to the flooding of a tunnel on the high-speed line near London, we are forced to cancel all our trains on the route to/from London," Eurostar said in a statement.

Travelers were apologized for the inconvenience caused. The flight was supposed to take place through the Channel Tunnel between London St. Pancras and Gare du Nord in Paris.

Later, the victims were told that the trip had to be canceled due to the flooding of several railroad tunnels under the Thames near Ebbsfleet International Station in Kent.

This is not an isolated incident. Due to heavy rain in the region, the UK's Southeastern Railways was also affected.

No specific timeframe was given for the resumption of train traffic. Due to the weather, many travelers were forced to change their plans and look for alternative routes.
