Top 4 bakeries to visit in Brighton
The Times has compiled its list of the 49 best bakeries in the UK to visit with the help of chefs and bakers from across the country.
Four bakeries in Brighton, including one chain with branches in Worthing, were selected for being so good that "food lovers queue up to get their baked goods". They were chosen by Isaac Bartlett-Copeland, co-founder of Embers restaurant on Meeting House Lane, Brighton, which opened earlier this year, Yahoo notes.
Sugardough Bakery, branches in Brighton and Hove
Sugardough is an "old-school" bakery that uses only traditional techniques to produce bread and cakes. Isaac points out the "fantastic attention to detail" and excellent quality of ingredients.
The Flour Pot Bakery, Brighton, Hove and Worthing
The first Flour Pot branch opened in Brighton North Lane on Sydney Street. Now there are ten of them, spreading across Brighton, Worthing and Hove, but as Isaac says, they haven't lost their charm.
The bakery offers a wide range of sweets and a wide selection of breads, so you'll want to keep coming back.
Julien Plumart
This patisserie has a prime location on Queens Road, Brighton, which means that tourists arriving at the station are only a stone's throw away from "irresistible" treats.
Having perfect pasta and "delicious" cruffins (hybrids of croissants and cupcakes), there's something for everyone.
Real Patisserie
Real Patisserie opened on Trafalgar Street, Brighton, over 25 years ago.
It is now one of Sussex's staple restaurants, known for its artisanal breads and miniature pies.
It also caters for events and offers wholesale options, making it a great place for special occasions.
