Owning a private jet is a status symbol for the world's wealthy and powerful. As strange as it may sound, some of these jets are worth more than the GDP of several countries!

These luxury jets even have full-size beds, spas, concert halls, children's play areas, and private offices, reports News Bytes.

Alisher Umanov's A340-300 aircraft - $400 million

Russian billionaire Alisher Umanov, who also owns the Metalloinvest mining company, is the owner of the world's most expensive private jet.

He has converted an Airbus A340-300, a wide-body long-haul aircraft with a maximum capacity of 375 passengers, into his personal flying abode.

Joseph Lau's Boeing 747-8 VIP - $367 million

Hong Kong real estate tycoon and billionaire Joseph Lau owns the second most expensive private jet in the world.

With a Mach speed of 0.855, or almost the speed of sound, the jet can travel up to 8000 nautical miles.

The interior of the jet is luxurious and sophisticated, including a dining room, office, living room, master bedroom, and state-of-the-art entertainment system.

Boeing 747-430 of the Sultan of Brunei - $230 million

The Sultan of Brunei's private jet is the epitome of luxury, with elements such as solid gold washbasins and Lalique crystal chandeliers to start with.

Compared to other private jets, this one has a few more striking elements, such as huge blue armchairs and an unusual patterned floor.

Although the Sultan has at least a few other private jets, this is the largest.

Prince Alwaleed's Boeing 747 - $220 million

Prince Alwaleed, a Saudi royal, uses a private jet that used to be a commercial airplane for Air China.

While this roomy plane could carry up to 400 people at a time when it existed, it now has several lounges, dining rooms, bedrooms, conference rooms, prayer rooms, and even a grand piano!

The Boeing 747 private jet is valued at a whopping $220 million.

Drake's Boeing 767 - $185 million

Drake, a famous rapper, owns an Air Drake (Boeing 767), which is estimated at $185 million.

He has given his private jet a special touch with gold trim, luxurious seats, and numerous mirrors as part of its interior.

Canadian cargo airline CargoJet reportedly donated the plane to Drake, believing it would generate enough publicity to offset the cost.
